Sponsorships for Kansas City Area Massage Students


The massage therapy program is through the Kansas City Massage Institute in KC, Missouri. It is a 24-month program. This sponsorship program allows you to go to school and gain expertise for around $1500. You will attend school at KCMI for the first 6 months of the program with 50% online and 50% in person. The on-site class days are Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9am to 2pm or 5pm to 10pm plus an additional 14 hours of required online coursework per week to complete at home before the next week starts. After classes are completed you will work for a local Massage Envy full-time (minimum 25 bookable hours per week) for the last 18 months (minimum 1950 service hours completed) to complete the 24-month program. You will be required to work Saturday or Sunday each week as well as close 3 shifts while completing your 18-month portion of the program at Massage Envy. This allows you to have a guaranteed paid job to gain experience.

Massage Envy Sponsorship Program

With your commitment to work at a Massage Envy location for approximately 18 months, the sponsorship program pays for up to 85% of your $9,500 tuition and fees. Successful students will have a full-time massage therapist job at one of KC’s Massage Envy locations waiting for them after graduation. Program requirements:

  • Can I work while I'm enrolled?

    Yes, absolutely! You'll just need to make sure that you are available to attend in-person classes 3 times a week for a total of 14 credit hours a week. 

  • For the sponsorship, do I have to work for you while I'm in school?

    No, not until you graduate and receive your license. 

  • How difficult is it to get my license after I graduate?

    Don’t worry, KC Massage Institute will walk you through the process and help you submit your application.

  • What degree will I earn?

    You will graduate with a Massage Therapy Certificate.

  • Is there a national certification test after I graduate?

    The Massage & Bodywork Licensing Examination, MBLEx, is designed to provide a standard examination for students of Massage for entry-level professional scope of practice in gaining licensure.  

  • Will KC Massage Institute help me pass the MBLEx?

    Yes! The coursework and training covers the content that is on the exam. We also offer an exam prep program that covers review information, flashcards, sample tests and more.

  • Will KC Massage Institute pay for my MBLEx test?

    Yes! We will work with you to schedule your first exam and will pay for the test. 

  • Is the school taking appropriate Covid protocols?

    We are following CDC guidelines and currently masks are required in school. These protocols are being adjusted as the guidelines change.

  • What time of day are classes?

    We offer daytime and evening courses. The daytime classes are typically 3 days a week from 9am to 2pm. Evening classes are 3 days a week from 5pm to 9:30pm.  

  • Is in-person attendance required?

    Yes, attendance is required. You must also complete online training.

  • What is school like?

    Our school is more like on-the-job training. Much of your in-class time will be spent learning and practicing techniques.
